Sightseeing

The Zlatni Rat beach
The biggest attraction of the island is of course the very beautiful beach of Zlatni Rat near Bol. The beach runs in a kind of tear, with a piece of forest in the middle. On both sides of the forest you will find a strip of beach, so you can alternate between shade and sun.

Dragon cave
Murvica is one of the smallest villages on the island of Brač and is not far from the beautiful sandy beach of Bol. The village dates back to the third century and in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries monks lived in the monasteries and caves above the village. One of those caves is the Dragon Cave, the Zmajeva Špilja. Via a shepherd's path you climb to the top, where you not only have a beautiful view of Brač and the coast, but you can also view the cave itself. The monk who lived here carved a dragon and other special reliefs in the rocks. You can also see the remains of a small chapel and the residences of the monks who once lived here.

Vidova Gora
Vidova gora is a mountain on the island of Brač in central Dalmatia. With a height of 778 meters, it is the highest elevation in the Adriatic Sea. The mountain is located on the southern part of the island, not far from the city of Bol. Other Dalmatian islands in the region can be seen from the top, including Hvar. The view is breathtaking. Climbing the mountain usually takes place from the tourist resort of Bol. A road leads up from the north, along which the top can also be reached by vehicles.

Touring by car
Touring the island is one of the most enjoyable things to do. The island is small, manageable and there are plenty of nice stops. Exploring Brač's stone villages is a beautiful experience. The island has a number of small villages where it seems as if time has stood still. A number of nice places: Supetar, Bol, Sutivan, Milna, Splitska, Postira and the old monumental village of Skrip.

A day trip to the mainland
With the ferry you are back on the mainland in Split within 50 minutes. Split is the largest and most important city in Dalmatia. The port city is located on a small peninsula in the Adriatic Sea. Fancy a day of shopping? Then visiting this old town is worthwhile.

Other activities
You can also practice many water sports on the island, buggy or rent a car to tour the island. There are also many boat trips to book to hop from island to island. All in all, a great area with many different sights and activities.
In the town of Selca there is an olive oil tasting called Brachia Olive Oil Experience. In Skrip there is an olive oil museum that you can visit. In Bol there is a winery called "Stina winery bol" where you can taste delicious local wines.
